美國諾瓦大學教育學博士。現任大漢技術學院客座教授，兼任社團法人臺灣評鑑協會理事、財團法人天主教博愛基金會監察人。曾任實踐大學校長、嶺東科技大學校長、靜宜大學校長、洛杉磯鳴遠中文學校校長等。曾獲臺中一中、淡江大學、成功大學校友傑出成就獎；梵蒂岡宗座聖多瑪斯研究院院士、中華民國私立教育事業協會傑出教師弘道獎、教廷聖西爾維斯特爵士、宏都拉斯天主教大學榮譽教授、教育部三等教育文化獎章、行政院青輔會三等青年服務勳章、美國加州州務卿頒榮譽親善大使。
